Looking around online reveals a subject that has been making news – search engine optimization. After I find the right vaporizer, I try to look at sites online to learn about search engine optimization. There’s been a lot of different thoughts in this arena lately. It’s been an interesting year of up and downs for many webmasters. Quite a few standard old methods of SEO seem to no longer apply.
One strategy that seems to be unimportant is profile links from online forums. Authors used to believe you could fill the internet with tons of these kinds of links. They would create a link with your desired anchor text on a domain with good Page Rank. Yet, the page itself that contained the link would still be PR0. So webmasters would add many of these forum links. Yet, I think it’s safe to say that the big G has caught on to this tactic by now. Hence they no longer help out your ranking very much.
Another type of link that isn’t as good is sidebar links. Those are links that are in the sidebar of the linking page. These are certainly nice to have, especially if they have some PR juice to pass. However, they are not the best type of link. The Google sees they are not surrounded by context-relevant words, and the sidebar link is on every single page of the linking site. Thus, these links don’t have quite as much value. Don’t get me wrong, these links are not completely worthless. It’s good to have some as part of your overall strategy.
This brings us to the ideal type of backlink: contextual home page links. What this means is links that are embedded within some text that is about the same topic as your web page. If possible, you want the text of the link to be your desired keyword. It’s your goal that this link be found on a page that has a decent Google Page Rank. Often this will be the main page of the site. The home page should have the most link value of any page on the site. But your backlinks are found on another inner page that has decent PageRank, that is nearly as good. If this seems challenging, I recommend you check out http://www.mdfilmconsultants.com/.
Therefore,it’s not just about how many links you have. You have to watch out for the quality of the links to your site. You definitely want to include a bunch of high PR in-context links in your overall mix .
